Victory Before Battle
The world is a battlefield. Everyone born into this world is born to contend. We battle with seen and unseen forces. We can't walk away from these battles or stop them from coming our ways. And they seem to be no end to them. Daily we face them.
Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
2 Corinthians 2:11
Lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Life battles have their roots in the enemy. We are not fighting flesh and blood or the physical. We are not fighting fellow humans. We are fighting principalities and powers of darkness. We are fighting the devil, his demons and the evil they orchestrate everyday on earth. Both our seen and unseen battles are from them. Some battles may seem ordinary, but in effect are the evil works of the enemy. We are not ignorant of his activities. We can recognise his devices, tactics and schemes.
The battles we face come as attacks on our spiritual life, our relationships, our health, our finances, God's purpose for our lives and on any area the enemy chooses to attack. The one major reason for these enemy attacks is to disrupt our relationship with God and His Son Jesus Christ. The one thing the devil despises most is our relationship with the Lord. He goes through several routes and uses different methods to truncate it. Hence, the believer faces these endless battles.
In all the battles confronting us, our victories were secured ahead of them all. These victories were won for us before our battles began, even before we were born. By the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ many years before our birth, our victories over all the plans and plots of the enemy were purchased. By His singular death, Jesus secured victory for all who will believe in Him. It was purchased ahead of time.
2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
All who believe in Jesus Christ are fighting life battles from the stance of victory. Victory is ours to take. It's relaxing and assuring to know you've already won the battle before it began. It gives peace in the storm and strength in chaos. It is the peace that passes all understanding and the strength that defies human comprehension. It gives you confidence where others are fearful. You're gallant in the face of trouble.
The enemy wants to take you down and out. It takes someone to win life battles. Do you have that one person it takes to win? That person is Jesus Christ. It is only in Jesus you and I can overcome. Have you surrendered to Him? Victory is guaranteed in Him alone. You are more than a conqueror in Him. If you're yet to receive Jesus, do so now and have the victorious life He purchased for you with His precious blood He shed on the cross on your behalf. Make Him your Lord and God, and enjoy these purchased victories ahead of all your battles. Having Jesus is having all the victories you need.
Romans 8:31
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
