The Power Of Praise
We pray more and praise less. We know how to ask, but forget how to praise. God requires our praise, the fruit of our lips which come from our heart. He created us for His praise. We are here to praise God, to honour, glorify and exalt Him through our praise.
Isaiah 43:21
"This people I have formed for Myself. They shall declare My praise."
There are blessings when we praise. Battles are won through praise. Jehoshaphat and the whole of Judah faced a serious battle against their enemies. Instead of training for war, they prepared to praise. They praised God and praised their way to victory. Chains are broken because of praise. Paul and Silas were cast into prison. Instead of complaining, they praised God in their state. In the midst of their praises, their chains were broken and they were set free. The walls of Jericho came tumbling down because the children of Israel blew their trumpet and shouted as the Lord commanded. That was a shout unto the Most High as commanded by the Most High. It brought down the walls of Jericho. Psalms 100:1 says, "Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands."
Instead of murmuring and grumbling, praise God. Instead of complaining and whining, praise God. When things go contrary, praise. When the battle is fierce, praise. When the storm is high, praise. When the enemy comes like a flood, praise. When it seems like there's no hope, praise. Praise God whatever state you are in. In the bad times and in the good times, praise. Praise God at all times.
Psalms 34:1
"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth."
Psalms 42:11
"Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God."
In your praise you have your victory. In your praise you receive deliverance. In your praise, answers to prayers are received. In praise the impossible becomes possible. There's power in praise. Don't just pray, also praise. When you pray, praise. Praise as much as you pray. Always have praise in your prayer. Mingle your prayer with praise. It will make a sweet savor unto the Lord.
Psalms 150:6
"Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD."
Hebrews 13:15
"By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."
Psalms 109:30
"I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude."
Colossians 3:16
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
Psalms 106:1
"Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever."
