Servants Of Righteousness
The seal on a Christian is righteousness. God identifies His children by it. Righteousness is the foundation of the Christian faith. Everyone that comes to God by the grace of His Son Jesus Christ is made whole and every stain of sin removed. The person begins a new walk and a new life of righteousness by grace.
2 Timothy 2:19_ Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
The Scripture says depart from sin if you bear the mark of Jesus and are His. Have nothing to do with sin which is the unfruitful works of darkness. Just as light and darkness have no relationship, so does the Christian and sin. At regeneration, we are translated into God's marvellous light and righteousness. God's righteousness is the light we walk in.
Righteousness marks and makes the difference between the Christian and the sinner. Without it, there is no difference. Without it you cannot lay claim to a relationship with God. Through Jesus we are liberated from the chains of sin and we become the servants of righteousness. Romans 6:18 acknowledges our freedom from sin and call to serve God in His righteousness. It says,
"Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness."
We are servants of righteousness. We are no longer slaves to satan, sin and sinful desires. Chains of slavery of sin have been broken through Jesus. Sin no longer rules over the redeemed.
Romans 6:14_ For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
We are under the grace of Jesus Christ. By grace we are made righteous. Under grace we are enabled to live in obedience to God and to walk in His righteousness. Grace is stronger than sin. No sin can stand grace. It breaks the yoke and dominion of sin over us.
1John 5:18_ We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not.
The Word of God is explicit. Whoever is born of God does not sin. We have become servants of righteousness. There's no comprise. There is no middle ground. We are the servants of righteousness. That's the seal on every faithful child of God- the seal of righteousness.
