Hear Jesus
How seriously do you take the words of Jesus Christ? The teachings of the Lord and about Him are contained in all of the Scriptures but predominantly in the four Gospels- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. How often do you read them? How often do you hear Jesus? Here's why you must take the words of the Lord seriously.
Matthew 24:35; "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away."
John 6:63; "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are life."
The words of Jesus Christ give life. There's no source of life except through Him. If you want eternal life, hear Jesus and obey Him. Hear the Lord and be obedient to what you hear. Live your life in the light of His words. Keep His commandments. Adhere to His words. Follow His teachings. None of His Word will go unfulfilled. None of His prophecies will go void. Heaven and earth will pass away, but the words of the Lord will never pass away.
Matthew 17:5 "While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”
Jesus Christ is the only one declared from Heaven by God. No other person received such a profound divine declaration. God announced His Son to the whole world. In His declaration and proclamation of Jesus, He told us to hear Him. He gave His approval and put His seal on His Son. He's the One given to us by God for guidance in all things and for life. His command is that we hear His Son Jesus Christ. Keeping this command of God is crucial if we want life here and in eternity. There's no other way to life other than hearing the Son of God and living in obedience to Him.
Whatever the book of the Bible we may be currently studying, we must constantly be in the Gospels. Hearing Jesus is crucial to life. As we continuously read and reread the Gospels, the Holy Spirit continuously illuminates us and fills us with more and more of God's truth. He opens our eyes more and more to see Jesus and be like Him.
Study the Gospels under the tutorship of the Holy Spirit and you won't derail from God. Constantly hear Jesus. Be at His feet like Mary, constantly. Hear Him everyday. Listen to Him. Let His Holy Spirit guide you in understanding His truth. Base your life on His Word. Life depends on what He says. Hear and obey the Lord.
