Ask Anything
When Jesus told us to ask the Father anything in His name, He was telling us to talk to God about anything and everything. He was telling us to be so comfortable and free with God that we can tell Him anything and everything, however big or small it may seem. Children are comfortable in the presence of a father that is good and loving. Our Heavenly Father is much more loving and kind than any earthly father. We ought to be more comfortable in His presence.
The Lord wants us to know that we have a Father that we can be free with concerning anything. We have a Father that wants His children to be around Him and in His presence with much comfort and ease. We have a Father that is willing and interested in listening to His children, whatever it is they have to say. He's willing to hear every detail of all you have to say. He has all the time and attention for you.
By telling us to ask anything from God, Jesus was telling us that whatever is important to us is important to God. Sometimes we may want to pray about certain things but may feel that it's a trivia and such shouldn't be brought before God. Jesus disagrees with that. He wants us to know that if it is important to us, it is important to God. Any issue that is important to us no matter what it is, is also important to our God because it's important to us.
By telling us to ask anything from God, Jesus was encouraging us to open up to God in everything. Though God knows all things, He still wants His children to open up to Him, to still talk to Him about them. Nothing should be covered or hidden from God because even if we try, nothing can be hidden from His sight or covered from Him. Jesus wants us to be vulnerable and open before our loving Heavenly Father and to be so without shame or fear.
By telling us to ask anything from God, Jesus was telling us that our sincerity before God is important. He wants us to own up before God how we feel over any issue. Instead of masking them or pretending we are okay when we are not, He wants us to humbly express our true feelings to God. There should be no pretence or camouflage in the presence of God.
When Jesus told us to ask anything from God, He was telling us that anything and everything is possible with God. Our God is able to do all things. There's no impossibility in Him, so ask from Him anything. Ask from Him whatever you will. Ask knowing and believing that He is God and nothing is greater than Him or beyond Him. He created all things. The whole of His creature are subject to Him. Ask anything in faith and according to His will, you'll have what you ask for.
Jesus gave us an open cheque when He told us to ask anything in His name. Whatever you put on it you receive. But there's a condition. It must be in the name of Jesus Christ. Everything humanity receives from God is through Jesus. He is the one connecting us to God. There's no other way to get to God or to receive from Him except through Jesus. Come to God through Jesus Christ. Ask Him anything in the name of Jesus Christ and you will receive what you asked from Him in the name of Jesus Christ.
John 16:23
Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
John 14:13-14
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
