A Holy Call
The Christian call is a call to holiness. A call to holiness is a call to total surrender to God in obedience. We are not called to continue in our former lifestyle which is contrary to the will of God and His Kingdom. We are not called to continue in the pattern of this dark world. We are called to live in line with the will of God. We are called to live in the light of God's holiness and Word and to carry this light with us wherever we go.
Obedience to the Lord is non-negotiable. It's either we are fully surrendered to Him in obedience or we are not. We can't sit on the fence. We can't pick and choose what to obey and what not to obey. We can't obey only what is 'convenient' and ignore what is not 'covenient'. Partial obedience is no obedience.
The grace of God is able to keep us in this high calling of holiness. We may not have in our strength what it takes to live in obedience to God. For that our loving Father has made available His grace and His Holy Spirit to enable us. It is not what we can do ourselves. It is not by our strength or might. It is by the Spirit of the Lord and by His grace. It is what the Lord can do in us and through us.
How much of God's Word do you obey? All of it or some of it? Do you cherry pick what to obey and what not to obey? Do you make excuses and give reasons to justify your disobedience to God? Do you replace obedience with 'religion'? In 1 Samuel 15:22 the Scripture tells us that obedience is better than sacrifice.
There are blessings in obedience. If you want to enjoy the Lord's blessings, live up to your high calling. Live in obedience to Him. You cannot live in rebellion against God and expect to have His blessings. If you will not obey Him, He'll not bless you. If He can't have your obedience, you won't have His blessings. Isaiah 1:19, says "If you're willing and obedient, you'll eat the good of the land". If you willingly obey the Lord, not grudgingly or partially, you'll receive the blessings of the Lord. If you're ready to walk in your high call of holiness, God is ever willing to enable you and in the process bless you immeasurably.
Ephesians 1:4
Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.
Colossians 1:21-22
And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.
Everyone that is born of God is called to live a life different from the world. Your call is a call to holy living. Stay on this path of light and holiness. Live your vocation and high calling of holiness.
