Help From Above
Psalm 121 reminds us where our help comes from. Verses one and two says, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills- From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth."
Where do you look to in times of need and necessities? Who and where is your help when you need it? Most times we are tempted to look elsewhere instead of on God. We are tempted to believe the promises of men more than the promises of God. We are tempted to count on the empty words of mere man instead of the living Word of the Lord. Sometimes we trust in ourselves, thinking we can pull through on our own and by ourselves. Either way, more often than not we come back hurt and dissappointed.
Man would fail you. Trusted allies wouldn't keep their promises. Friends would hurt you the most. Relatives may not be there when you need them. Humans would disappoint. But there is a very present help in times of trouble that doesn't fail or dissappoint. That help is God.
Our ultimate help is God. He never fails or disappoints. He's not a man that He would lie. His help is ever present every moment of our lives. His resources never fails. His strength doesn't diminish. Neither does His love for us. His abiding love is as sure as His abiding help.
In times of need, look to no one but to the one sure help you have. The one sure help is God. He is not your last resort but your only resort. He is your only help, the one person you can put all your hope, faith and trust in Him and never be disappointed.
