Your Spiritual Growth
When a baby is born, the baby grows with time. A delay in growth would be a thing of worry to a parent. Lack of growth and development is an indication that all is not well. Same is the case in the spiritual, when we are born into the family of God.
When we surrender to God through His Son Jesus Christ, we have been born again into the family of God. Our spiritual growth kicks of from that point. It is expected that we begin to develop and mature in God and in the things of God. We are nurtured to grow by the Holy Spirit through faith. If such spiritual progress is not evident in our lives as believers, it goes to say all is not well. It's either we are not being truthful in our profession or we are not abiding in the Lord.
The two core divine and spiritual provisions for our spiritual growth are prayer and the Word of God. We cannot grow without the two. Praying and studying the Word everyday is what every believer must do for spiritual maturity. These two reveal God and His will to us. The Word of God and prayer establish us in the presence of God, draw us closer to God, keep us in obedience to God and in all ensure our maturity in God.
Be committed to studying God's Word and to prayer. There are no other ways or short cuts to growing and abiding in God's presence. There are no alternatives. Study your Bible to know God and His way. Be prayerful to draw closer to Him. God's plan is for you to know Him and grow in Him. He has made a way for that- His Word and prayer. Study, pray, grow and enjoy the blessings that come from living life with God.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
