No Greater Love Than This
Most times we seek love from where it can’t be found. We seek love, affection and pleasure from people and things that don’t have it to give. They too are like us, searching for the same things. And when we can’t find love at the wrong places, we get frustrated and feel dejected. That is the reason the world lives in frustration, unsatisfied. We seek right things at the wrong places. We were created to crave for love, but we wrongly seek it where it can’t be found.
There’s no love greater than God’s love. There’s no love greater than the love God pours out to us through His Son Jesus Christ. Love isn’t what you say. It is what you do. God gave us His Son who gave His life for us on the cross. He exchanged our life with His Son’s life. When we were supposed to die, He died in our place. He died so that we can live. We find God’s love in Jesus. There’s no love greater than this. They can never be a love like it.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
It wasn’t a coincidence that the arms of Jesus were spread on the cross. That’s an invitation and a sign of acceptance. His spread arms are beckoning on us to come into His embrace of perfect love; a love without any condition. His love is the love that is not based on anything. It’s not based on what we did or on what we will do. It’s performance free. It’s the love that calls everyone to come. Whatever you’ve done and whatever you haven’t done, God’s love is beckoning on you. His love says it doesn’t matter. What matters is you. Come and find the love, care and satisfaction you’ve longed for. Whatever mess you are in, God loves and accepts you just the way you are. He says, “It’s okay. Come the way you are. I’ll take care of you and everything about you.”
God’s love for us cost Him the death of His Son. Don’t trample on it. Don’t toy with it. God went too far to provide this perfect love for us. He went too far to secure our happiness and eternal bliss. Don’t look at other people to find love because they are just like you, needing the same love. Look at Jesus to find it. Don’t seek pleasure and satisfaction from things because it’s not in them. That is why people acquire so much material things in life and still remain unfulfilled without God. Love and the things that come with it are found in God through His Son Jesus.
No other person can fill the emptiness in you. No one and nothing can satisfy. No other can occupy that space in you because it is God-shaped. That space belongs to God. Only He can fill it, and He does that through His Son Jesus. Let Him in. His arms are spread, waiting for you. Let your Father love you. His love is the only perfect love. There’s no love greater than His.
