More Than Enough
When you get to the point that God is more than enough for you, then you’ve reached that place that the Lord desires for all of His children. When God is all in your life; when your life depends solely on Him, you are living in the fullness of life. When you don’t look at other sources for your fulfillment, satisfaction and joy, you are living in that place of rest and peace.
We were brought into being by God. He created us. He created us to yearn for Him and exist in Him, not outside of Him. Nothing and no one can take His place. There’s no alternative to God in life. We can’t replace Him with something or someone else. Material things or another human like us can never play God in our lives. That’s why in the midst of abundance, without God joy is likely to be missing. Accomplishments without God give no true satisfaction.
God is interested in our total dependence on Him. When we totally depend on Him, our life would not be controlled by the abundance of the earthly things we accumulate. Whether our wine and corn abide or not, we will be satisfied. Because the life we live doesn’t depend on the abundance of the earthly things we possess but on God, we are always good with or without them. When there is wine, we are happy. When there’s no wine, we are also happy. If we get that promotion or contract, we are satisfied. If we don’t, we are still satisfied in life because God is the source of our satisfaction.
God is more than enough for the true Christian, even in the midst of uncertainties. A Christian is not only in tune with God when all prayers have been answered and all problems resolved. Our focus is God and not on the things we receive from Him. We love the giver, and not just the gift in His hand. As a Christian if you lose earthly possessions you should still be good because it wasn’t God you lost and because your life doesn’t depend on material things but on God that is always with you; the God that you will never lose. God wants us to love Him on the mountain and also in the valley.
When you don’t look on earthly things to find joy and fulfillment but on God, it means God is more than enough for you. When you are happy in God, whatever situation it is, it means God is more than enough for you. When you don’t allow circumstances and issues of life to weigh you down, rather you keep trusting in the Lord and being happy, then God is more than enough for you. When you don’t compare yourself with other people and get frustrated with how far they’ve gone ahead of you, but rather have absolute trust in what God is doing your life, then God is more than enough for you.
Let God be more than enough for you at all times and in all things; both in the good times and in the bad times. Let Him be all in all in your life. That’s what He desires to be to you. Let your whole existence and everything in it depend only on God. When that is the case you wouldn’t be tossed about by circumstances and material things of life. You wouldn’t be frustrated because things didn’t work out the way you thought or the way you planned. Nothing would be able to move you because your joy, satisfaction and fulfillment come from the inside of you which is the God in you, and not from the outside or the external.
When you have God, you have everything because He is everything. In Him is everything. A life that depends on things other than God to find happiness and wholeness is emptier than you may imagine. A life that depends solely on God for life and everything is richer than you may be able to comprehend. Take a decision and let God be in your life what He has always desired to be to you- More Than Enough.
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. Habakkuk 3:17-19
