Extravagant Giving
God commands us to give, but no matter how much we give, none can give like God. We can't beat God in giving. We can't out give Him. Whatever we think we can give, however much we give, God gives immeasurably more than us.
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
God gave us the greatest gift He has. This is the greatest gift He would ever give and the greatest gift we would ever be given. This gift is His only Son Jesus Christ. He is God's extravagant gift and the most extravagant gift humanity would ever receive in all generations throughout eternity. Nothing can be as precious.
John 3:16 says Jesus was given to us because of love. Out of love God gave Christ to every man that would ever live, starting from Adam to the last person to be born on earth. Jesus Christ is a gift for us all, even to those that lived before He manifested in the flesh on earth. What He did is for all humanity through all eternity.
Hebrews 9:22
"And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission."
The only begotten Son of God Jesus Christ came to die for the sins of the world. He died for the whole of humanity, irrespective of time and age one lived. Through His blood He shed on the cross, we are forgiven, reconciled and restored to God. Without His blood there is no forgiveness of sin and there would have been no redemption for humanity. He redeemed us from sin and its consequence which is death. God tells us in John 3:16, when we believe in Him and receive Him, we are saved from the eternal damnation of sin.
When someone gives you a gift, you either receive it or reject it. When we reject a gift from our fellow human beings, there are usually no consequences as such. Even if there are consequences so to say, the consequences are minor, not eternal. The only gift you face eternal consequence for not receiving is Jesus Christ. He's the only gift you can't reject, the gift you can't afford to reject.
Rejecting the Lord is rejecting life. It is rejecting the judgment He bore on the cross on your behalf. Rejecting Jesus means consequently you'll be judged in eternity and you'll lose the eternal life He offered you while you were on earth. This means eternal damnation and punishment.
God has given His best to save you from judgment. He gave extravagantly so you'll not lose your soul. The Divine part has been completed. What is left is your part, which is your decision and choice. You can reject Jesus and bear the penalty and consequence for all of eternity. You can receive Him and have eternal life and forever bliss with God in His Kingdom. It's all about your choice.
