CBN gets court order to freeze accounts of #EndSARS promoters
The federal high court sitting in Abuja has granted the Central Bank of Nigeria’s request to freeze the accounts of 19 individuals and a public affairs company linked to the #EndSARS protests, as reported by TheCable.
A document seen by TheCable showed that the CBN filed the request on October 20, 2020, and the court granted the request on November 5.
Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank of Nigeria, Guaranty Trust Bank, United Bank of Africa and Zenith Bank are to freeze all transactions on the 20 accounts.
