Word Of The Week: Fear Not- Matthew 10:29-31
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31
Meditation/Action
Fear is an enemy of man. It is of the devil. 2 Timothy 1:7 says we didn’t receive the spirit of fear from God. It is of the enemy, the devil. He brings it our ways to stop us from moving forward to where God designed for us. Fear has a crippling effect. It does much harm and no good. If you let it in, even when there is no cause to fear, it makes you feel everything is wrong or going to be. It puts you in a panic mood, pushing you to worry over everything including non-existing problems. Through fear the enemy feeds your imagination with problems you may never have. You worry over issues that may never come your way. That’s why some people call it ‘False Expression Appearing Real’- FEAR.
The Christian sometimes faces fear too. The enemy throws it at everybody. The difference is who welcomes and gives it a place to breed and who doesn’t. We may not be responsible for everything that perches on us, but we are responsible if it continues to perch. When fear comes, don’t give it the space it wants. Don’t let it turn your mind to a breeding place for anxiety, negative thoughts and worry. For the Christian, you drive it away with what God says, which is His Word.
There are many Scripture verses telling us not to fear. God is able to take care of everything. Jesus says, “Fear ye not…” You are of great value to God, your Father. He can tell the number of your hairs. Trust Him. Believe Him for anything and for everything. He will take care of you. He has never failed. He will never fail you. Fear not.
