Why You Need A Saviour
We all need a saviour. We have fallen short of the glory of God through sin and need a saviour to be free. There is no exception. We are born with the nature of sin. Because of this sinful mature none can lay claim to righteousness. As we grow, the nature of sin in us grows alongside, and by it we sin habitually and consequently fall short of the glory of the Lord.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s standard of righteousness, and we cannot save ourselves. We don’t have what it takes to save ourselves. There is nothing we can do that can save us from sin and the punishment of it which is death. Animals were sacrificed of old. The animals couldn’t take away sin. Only a perfect sacrifice could cleanse us and destroy the root of sin in man. Only such sacrifice could atone for sin and also grant us the grace to live above it.
The perfect sacrifice is Jesus. He alone can save from sin and its bondage. He alone is perfect to save, to deliver and to redeem. No other could do it other than Him. He paid the penalty for our sins by sacrificing Himself on the cross. He shed His blood for the redemption of all of mankind. He died for all, not for some. He paid the ultimate price with His blood. He is the only Saviour. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. The world has just one Saviour. That Saviour is Jesus Christ.
Man lives forever. When we leave this physical world, we continue to live. We live through eternity. Without salvation, we will be eternally lost. Without it, we suffer at the other side of eternity. The unsaved suffer eternal separation from God. Sin is judged in eternity and the penalty is eternal punishment and separation from God. That’s why it’s needful that we are saved before we cross over to eternity. The Saviour is Jesus and He waits on us to take decision and come to Him for salvation.
Jesus has sacrificed Himself and poured out His perfect blood in our stead. The sacrificed has been made. The price has been paid. The rest is left for us. The decision is ours to take. It is our choice to accept or to reject what was done for us. The sacrifice was made for us, but it is not binding on us. We have a choice to make. If we choose to accept this perfect sacrifice, we will be saved from sin, from judgment, from death and from eternal punishment. We will have a blissful eternity with God. But if we choose to neglect or reject this great redemption sacrifice and plan, then we have chosen eternal punishment for sin, eternal separation from God and death.
The greatest decision you would ever make in this side of eternity is to choose Jesus; to accept that He died for you by shedding His blood on the cross. God does not ask you for any other thing other than to believe and accept His only begotten Son. When you receive Him, He’ll cleanse you from sin and also forgive you. He will strenghten you, enable you and give you the grace you need to forsake all your sins and to begin a new life in His righteousness. He’ll lead you in the way of faith, righteousness and life.
Make that decision now. Choose Jesus. Bow your heart and surrender all to Him now. Let Him in. Make Him your Lord and let Him be your Saviour that He truly is. Heaven will rejoice over you, and your life on earth and in eternity would be secured.
