No Love Without God
It could be puzzling when people say they're looking for 'true love' in a place where there is no God. Only God is 'true love' and only in Him is love. There is no love without Him. You cannot find love where He is not. You cannot find love in someone that doesn't know God. We cannot love without Him.
We do not have the ability to love by ourselves. God guides us in love. He puts love in us love for Himself and for other. He not only leads us to love Him as our God, He also guides us to love others. When we are surrendered to Him, then we can love without dissimulation. He teaches us to love and to receive love.
The one that doesn't know God but claims to love will sooner or later show he's void of love because God is not in Him. People set themselves up for disappointments and hurt when they look for 'true love' in someone that doesn't know God. Looking for love where there's no God is like looking for oceans in a desert.
More often, people who have no love in them seek for 'true love' in others. When we come to God, He first puts the 'true love' we are seeking in others in us so we can love others the way we want them to love us. It would be selfish to desire from others what we can't give them. Love is a two way drive. You reciprocate as you receive.
The only 'true love' that there is is the love of God. His love is Holy and pure. His love is unconditional and everlasting. Seek Him and find this beautiful love of His which He expressed in His Son Jesus Christ. The Son is the expression of the Father's love. Know Jesus and know God's love. Then you can be able to not only love God, but also love others, and in turn receive the love you desire.
1 John 4:7-12
[7]Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
[8]He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
[9]In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
[10]In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
[11]Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
[12]No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
