Key To Heaven’s Best
There is no short cut to God’s blessings other than obedience to Him. To enjoy His blessings and privileges, we must obey Him. We should not expect much from God if we choose to live in disobedience to Him and His Word. A father that is disregarded by his child wouldn’t be too eager to give in to such a disobedient child. Disobedience to God is a disregard to Him. If we cannot seek God’s heart by obeying Him, then we should not seek His hand and the blessings in it. We can’t live in disobedience to Him and crave for His blessings. God’s blessings come with obedience.
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. Deuteronomy 28:1-2
The Scripture says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, Proverbs 9:10. There could be no better way to express it. The fear of God keeps you in obedience to Him. If you don’t reverence God, you won’t obey Him. Obedience to God is the product of your reverence for Him. If we would reverence, regard and obey human beings like us, much more should we reverence, honour, regard and obey the God that created human beings, the entire universe and everything in it.
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. John 14:23-24
Jesus said we shouldn’t claim to know Him if we live in disobedience. The simple word that describes disobedience to God is sin. That’s what sums it up. This three letter word may sound simple, yet has the gravest of consequences. Sadly, the new wave of Christianity has chosen to silence God’s stance against sin and His requirement of righteousness. Strange teachings have replaced God’s command against sin and for righteousness. One doesn’t have to wonder why there is so much sin and confusion in the Church today; why the power of God is missing in our mist and is being replaced with superficial activities, noisiness and acrobatic shows. This is because we took another turn. As a Church and as individuals, if we want God’s best, we must be ready to walk in obedience to Him and His Word. There’s no short cut and there’s no alternative. The Church may get disoriented, choosing sin and lawlessness, but God can never change. Neither does His Word and standard. God hates and abhors iniquity and won’t start loving it because the Church has left the ancient landmark He gave.
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2
Sin which is disobedience separates us from God. It deprives us of His blessings, hinders our prayers to Him and stops the manifestation of His great plans for us. If you love to see good days and to enjoy Heaven’s best, live in obedience to God and His Word. Obey Him in all things. Walk in His righteousness. The grace of God is able to lead you in the path of righteousness. You can’t do it on your own. You didn’t save yourself. Neither can you keep yourself in that path of righteousness. It was the grace of God that brought you to the cross of the Saviour where you were forgiven, cleansed, made whole and saved. It is the same grace that would keep you in obedience to God and in His righteousness. If we would believe and lean on God, through His grace, He’ll lead us in righteousness. By the power and sufficiency of grace, what we couldn’t do on our own and in the flesh, we find ourselves able to do. That’s why grace came- to establish righteousness, and not sin.
There could be no great fellowship between a father and a disobedient child. The key to God’s best is obedience to Him. Don’t toy with sin. Don’t meddle in it. Don’t think or say it doesn’t matter because it does. Live according to His Word and how He says to live. Let your ways please the Lord. Obedient Christians are not easily found in this generation. Make yourself one. Be an example of a true believer and follower of Jesus Christ. Walk with God in righteousness and teach others how to do so by the unique life you live. Live in obedience to God and enjoy the blessings and favour that flow from Him. Glorify Him and His best will never miss in your life.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. Romans 6:14-18
And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. Isaiah 1:19
Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 7:21
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
God is interested in the way you live. He wants you to live right. He desires and commands your obedience. You cannot be a part of His Kingdom and live in disobedience to the same Kingdom. Live in obedience and enjoy God’s Kingdom blessings. Turn to Him today in repentance of all disobedience and sin. Sin kills. But righteousness and obedience to God attract great blessings from on High. That’s the key. It’s in your hand.
